Blu Revisits The Creation Of Life… And Its Demise

BLU, the Italian artist responsible for the short films Muto, 2008's ambiguous animation painted on public walls, and Combo, last year's collaborative wall animation with David Ellis, has published a new mind-blowing short. His new piece of timelapse graffiti Big Bang Big Boom is an unscientific point of view on the beginning and evolution of life … and how it could probably end.
The new film took months of work and hundreds buckets of paint to create, and incorporates quite a bit of stop motion. More than in the previous efforts the wall-paintings interact with, and make inventive use of "found" objects and landscape elements. The finished piece looks so spontaneous and well-executed that many scenes leave you wondering to what extent the scenes were scripted, and inhowfar some interactions with the environment were inspired by the spur of the moment.

The film is directed and animated by BLU, and produced and distributed by ARTSH.it, with a soundtrack by Italian composer Andrea Martignoni.
