Today Louis CK released Tomorrow Night, a black-and-white film he made in 1998. As he has done with his comedy specials, it's availabe directly from Cooper Blackfor its opening titles. And his 2011 Comedy Central record, Hilarious, also uses Cooper Black. So it appears he's always had a thing for this font. And it fits. The very qualities of Cooper — soft; playful; blatant; considered — could easily define him, too.
