  • 1. How Does LikeFont for Windows Update?

    The right wing window of LikeFont for Windows can set the parameter of "Update Automatically". So it will automatically update to the newest version when you open the software next time. If there are major updates that shut down the software, it will inform you and you can choose to update it now or not.

  • 2. What If It Says "You Click too Fast, Please wait"?

    It means you clicked twice too quickly, please wait for 2 seconds and try again.

  • 3. Why do some same fonts appear in one query?

    There are three reasons: Different style in the same font family. Different version in the same style in the same font family. The almost same font made by different font-makers. You can just choose one to use.

  • 4. What If I Cannot Input the Character?

    If you can not input the character, you can use the function of Word to input it in the word and copy it into the input box.

    If you cannot input Simplified Chinese or Traditional Chinese, you can reverse them into each other by Word.

  • 5. How to Input the Right Characters in the Box?

    You can input the character below the picture. You should distinguish the Capital letters (例如: ABCDEF) and small letters (i.e.: abcdef), the full-width (i.e.: ABCDEF) and the half-full-width (i.e.: abcdef) and tone letters (i.e.: ĀāĂ㥹ĆćĈĉĊċČčĎďĐđĒēĔĕĖėĘęĚě), numbers and different Chinese and Japanese.

  • 6. What if there are a bunch of parts of character?

    To be more accurate, you only need to input the characters with distinguished features. Even if you only input one character is fine.

  • 7. How can I stitch parts into a complete character?

    If the parts of characters are not connected, it will be considered as different parts. You can just drag them into one box so they will be a complete character. And you should input the relevant character below.

  • 8. Why does it take so long to identify fonts?

    There are two possible reasons:

    A. Because you input too many characters and the server needs to match them one by one so it will take longer to confirm the result. It is recommended to input fewer.

    B. Because the server is busy with so many requests. Please wait for a while.

  • 9. Why are the results not accurate?

    It is complicated for these following reasons:

    A. It is not a font but creative characters, hand-written and other ancient fonts which are not been digitalized into fonts yet.

    B. The pixel of image is too small to identify accurately.

    C. The characters are not parallel.

    D. The picture is in black background and white characters. You can adjust it by "Reverse" it.

    E. The characters are not typical so it is hard to match it. You can only input the characters with distinguished features and not others and try again.

    F. We do not collect the font in the picture yet.

  • 10. How to identify multiple fonts in one picture?

    LikeFont only allows users to identify one font at a time to avoid mistakenly judgment. If there are many fonts, you can only input the characters in one font at a time and ignore the others. And you can identify them one by one.

  • 11. How to identify the font when the characters are connected to each other?

    If the characters are connected to each other, it is impossible to identify. There are two ways to deal with it:

    First, you can erase the connection with photo editor before you upload the image.

    Second, you can adjust the threshold value until the characters are not connected.

    Tip: Threshold Value

    Threshold value is critical value, that is the division between black and white. When the value is higher than 128, it will turn into white and when the value is lower than 128, it will turn into black. If you upload a gray picture or colorful picture, LikeFont will turn it into a black and white picture automatically and you can set a grey threshold value if necessary.

  • 12. How to identify the image with black background and white characters?

    If the picture you upload show in black background and white characters, you can click the "Reverse" button to make it the other way around.

    Tip: Reverse

    By reversy, you can turn around the colors in the image (exchange the front color and the background color). Reverse is not necessary for every image.

  • 13. What If It Says "Upload Failed, Error Code: xxx"?

    There could be two reasons:

    a.The image you uploaded is other file format instead of JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, WBMP. So you can convert the format of the image with photo editors then upload it.

    B. The picture you upload is too large.

  • 14. What If It Says "The size of picture should be larger than 30*30px!"?

    The reason why this occurs is because the picture you uploaded is smaller than 30px. You should avoid small pictures because the smaller the picture, the little information it carries and the less impossible to identify the right fonts. So a picture which is larger than 100pixel is recommended. If you can not find a larger picture, you can enlarge the picture and upload it.

  • 15. How Many Ways Can I Upload Images?

    You can upload images in two ways:

    A. You can upload images by clicking the "Select image" button, or dragging and releasing your local picture at the image area, or using the hot keys of "Ctrl+V".

    B. You can input the http address of pictures to up load it.

    Tip: You can not "drag and release" or "Ctrl+V" to upload image on your phone but you can upload your local image or take a photo then upload it.

  • 16. What are the requests of uploaded images?

    To get better results of identification, it is highly recommended that you should try to avoid these following problems of images:

    A. Characters in the image should not connect to each other and the frame of them should be as clear as possible without gradient ramp or variegated and they should be parallel.

    B. The pictures should be larger than 30px, and smaller than 10MB.

    C. LikeFont supports JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, WBMP and other file formats.

  • 17. What are the steps to identify fonts from images?

    STEP 1: Visit the page of "LikeFont" at https://eng.likefont.com/ and click "Select Image" button and upload your local image. If the picture is from the internet, you can input the URL and click "Go" button.

    STEP 2: You should check if the image presenting rightly. If you find the parts of characters are white not black, you should click "Reverse" button to make it the other way around. If you see the color of whole picture is black, you could adjust it by drag the "Threshold" value bar to make sure the character shows normally.

    STEP 3: After adjusting the image, you should stitch all the parts of characters into one. If disconnected parts within one character, it shall be apart. You can drag them to complete the character. Then you should input the right character in the box under that character. It should be split the Capital letters and small letters in English and the Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.

    STEP 4: After checking you can click "Identify" button. LikeFont will identify the fonts fits in and represents all the fonts automatically. You can drag the original image to compare with the results and after you find the desired font, you can click the link of font to download the font file or purchase the commercial authorization.
