Vasily Biryukov graduated from Stroganov University of Industrial and Applied Arts in Moscow as graphic designer specializing mostly in periodicals. Being deeply interested in typography and not satisfied with quantity of Cyrillic text typefaces suitable for magazines and newspapers, he began also designing type.
