Top 100 Fonts.com Web Fonts for July 2015

The Futura® typeface family consistently ranks high on the Top 100 Web Fonts list. Last month it was 8th. But what if you want a geometric sans, but that is little bit different – and a little more "human" than Futura? Well, you don't have to go down the too list much further. Just look to 31. There you'll find the Harmonia Sans™ family. Harmonia Sans combines designer Jim Wasco's favorite aspects of classic geometric sans faces with an elegant and un-geometric twist. The result is an extensive family that works seamlessly on the printed page and on screen.

"I wanted to create a new design by pulling the best aspects from all the classics of geometric sans serif designs," recalls Wasco. "For the ratio of cap to lowercase height, however, I used classic proportions of calligraphic lettering. I considered several examples before settling on the work of Ludovico degli Arrighi, a master calligrapher in the sixteenth century." The result of Wasco's choices is a design with remarkable clarity, versatility and verve.

The complete Harmonia Sans family includes a total of 17 typefaces. Each of the five weights, ranging from light to black, has a companion cursive Italic. In addition, Wasco drew four monospaced faces and condensed designs for the regular, semi bold and bold weights.
